The South Kitsap Helpline is 501(c)3 non-profit organization which has served South Kitsap children, adults and senior citizens in need since 1980. It is our goal to help make sure that all of our neighbors who are struggling have the food they need for themselves and their families.
Every day, 40,000 people in Kitsap County struggle to put food on their table. According to a recent study from the USDA, at some point in the year, 1 in 6 Americans won’t know where their next meal will come from. By working with individuals, small businesses, grocery stores, civic groups, schools, and churches across our community, we are working to eliminate hunger in our community.
Our agency comprises the Helpline Food Bank and Oleah’s Plant & Produce Patch, both located at 1023 Mitchell Avenue in Port Orchard, Washington. Proceeds from Oleah’s Plant & Produce Patch help to fund our food bank.
We distribute over 100,000 pounds of nutritious food each year including 50,000 pounds of fresh produce.
Our Food Bank distributes food, pet food and other items to families in need residing in the South Kitsap community.
