TANGIBLE DONATIONS WE ARE ABLE TO ACCEPT
Food donations to our food bank are greatly appreciated and we can use those year-round. Please always make it a point to only donate food that you would be comfortable feeding your own family. If there’s any doubt (a questionable expiration date, any dented or rusted cans), please throw it out. This will save us the waste disposal fees. Thank you!
The South Kitsap Helpline is not able to accept clothing donations other than new and gently used adult coats for our clients and cold weather items like hats, gloves and scarves. We just do not have the space to store those items or the staff required to sort and wash clothing on a regular basis. For clothing donations, we refer people to Adventure of Faith Church or St. Vincent dePaul, both in Port Orchard. The Port Orchard 7th Day Adventist Church also has a children’s clothing closet “Kids Kloset” for all used children’s items in good condition.
We also greatly appreciate donations of tents and clean sleeping bags in good condition for our homeless clients and can use those all year.
We’re sorry but we are unable to accept any used children’s toys, household items, furniture, bedding or any partially used hygiene items like shampoos, cosmetics, etc.
